Taught by David Ley and Elissa Maas Weinzimmer
David Ley, Professor of Voice & Speech at the University of Alberta, came up with the idea to use a vibrator for the voice when he was trying to figure out how to help a client with vocal tension. Elissa joined him in teaching the technique when she discovered it was solving her years-long vocal stamina issue. Together they are passionate about giving you the tools to reduce vocal tension and enhance resonance.
Do I need to bring a device to the workshop?
Since this technique is focused on the use of external vibration, if you can bring a vibrating device, you'll use it! When you sign up, we'll send you an email with a link to devices we recommend. But, if you don't have time to get something, or you're not ready yet, don't worry! We'll teach you effective modifications you can do with your hands.
Should I consult my doctor first?
Vibrant Voice Technique is not a medical technique. If you have a history of thrombosis, high blood pressure, diabetes, phlebitis, seizures, or if you have a heart condition or a pacemaker, please attend the workshop and follow our instructions to practice the exercises without a device. You should consult your doctor before practicing the technique with a vibrating device. Please see the full medical disclaimer below.
