Is Vibrant Voice Technique for you?
Â
Are you a performer? A singer or an actor? Do you use your voice in an athletic way?
Do you rely on your voice for your job? Are you a classroom teacher, a lawyer, a call center employee, a business person, or a public speaker?
Do you have intense vocal demands, using your voice for long periods of time and/or needing to be loud?
Maybe you’re an amateur singer who wants to participate in your local choir. Yet you struggle with reduced voice quality or vocal fatigue.
If any of this sounds like you, you can benefit from releasing muscle tension and enhancing your vocal resonance with Vibrant Voice Technique.
How vibration can help your voice:
When we have muscle tension that’s impacting our voice, it’s likely that some of our muscles are tight (i.e. over-activated), but it’s also likely that some of our muscles are not firing as well as they could be (i.e. under-activated). Vibration is the great equalizer: it stimulates tight muscles to release, and wakes up under-activated muscles. The course includes a series of seven tension release exercises for the shoulders, neck, jaw, and tongue that are extremely effective for reducing the muscle tension that leads to vocal fatigue.
Applying vibration to the larynx can help stimulate movement in the vocal folds and the tissues surrounding them. The small muscles in and around the vocal folds are especially liable to being in states of hypertension (over-activation) or hypotension (under-activation). Because we cannot directly massage these muscles, vibration is an especially useful tool to penetrate and encourage freedom in the muscles inside the larynx.
In the resonance exercises of the course, we’ll teach you how to use external vibration to encourage a re-shaping of the vocal tract. Resonance is the amplification of sound that occurs inside the vocal tract (a.k.a. our throat). When we shape our vocal tract in optimal ways, we can increase the power of our sound without additional effort. External vibration is a powerful and exciting kinesthetic tool for supporting more resonance.
Vibration can help sharpen articulation, which is, of course, a crucial component of effective communication. Our articulation exercises focus on activating the lips, tongue, and facial muscles, to sharpen articulation. These exercises are doubly impactful because active articulators can help draw our voice forward, making it even easier to produce sound with less work.
"This technique is brilliant! My jaw in particular has been doing so much better since I've used the vibrator. Nothing else has worked for me up to now. It’s a real relief! Thank you so much, I am so glad I signed up!"

The Backstory
Â
In 2011, Canadian voice and speech professor David Ley was working with an actor who was experiencing ongoing hoarseness and vocal fatigue. She’d visited her local laryngologist to be sure that there were no pathological issues such as nodes, polyps, or excessive swelling. The doctor didn’t see anything wrong.
This led David to believe that the actor’s problem was muscular tension.Â
So he guided her in laryngeal massage, but she didn’t feel comfortable touching the front of her throat. He needed to come up with an idea for how to address the tension in her neck…Â
He thought to himself: “We use vibrators to help release muscles in our legs… personal massagers on our backs… What about a small hand-held vibration device to release tension in the throat?”
And in this lightbulb moment, Vibrant Voice Technique was born.
Why study with us?
We get it, you could just pick up a vibrator and try using it for your voice on your own. But our technique involves more than just the application of external vibration. We teach specific movements and vocal practices to enhance the results of using vibration for your voice. Plus, our exercises build on each other in a step-by-step manner, so that you not only make gains faster, but also retain ongoing vocal freedom.

"Recently I had three hours of singing, one hour alone as a soloist and two hours with others singers. Nobody knew I had just learned the Vibrant Voice Technique, but they remarked to me that my voice was more brilliant, full, and they heard something like bells!
I felt that it was easier to achieve pianissimo for many notes as well."
— Louise Gagnon, Family Doctor and Classical Singer, Montréal, QC

"Vibrant Voice has given me a routine to warm up my voice as an athlete would warm up before a training session or a competition. As a result, recovery time of the discomfort resulting from a working day has significantly diminished. Thank you VVT for making it possible to continue in the line of work that I love, for speeding up recovery and for reducing stress associated my voice use!”
