The 2026 Vibrant Voice Technique Instructor Program
Deadline to apply: May 1, 2026 | Earlybird deadline: February 15th, 2026
Vibrant Voice Technique® combines the use of a vibrating device with anatomically-based movement and voice practices. The result? Quickly and effectively enhance vocal resonance and reduce the muscle tension that can lead to vocal fatigue. The technique was created by David Ley, Professor of Voice and Speech at the University of Alberta. This Instructor Program is co-taught by David Ley and Elissa Maas Weinzimmer, Managing Director of Vibrant Voice Technique.
If you are interested in incorporating Vibrant Voice Technique into your existing voice teaching practice and becoming designated as an Official Instructor of Vibrant Voice Technique, you are invited to apply for the Vibrant Voice Technique Instructor Program.
The VVT Instructor Program includes in-person and online training. The in-person gathering will be in Edmonton, Alberta, at the University of Alberta Department of Drama, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada T6G 2C9.
Schedule of the 2026 Instructor Program
Each participant will also receive two individual 55-minute sessions, one with David Ley and one with Elissa Maas Weinzimmer, during the length of the program.
Who is eligible for the program?
The VVT Instructor Program is designed for voice teachers with an existing practice. Rather than providing initial training to be a voice teacher, the program offers a chance to learn a technique that can be incorporated into your existing voice teaching work. An eligible participant may likely be an established singing teacher, voice and speech coach, or speech therapist/speech language pathologist.
What will we cover in training?
In the training program, we will go into great detail with all of the Vibrant Voice Technique exercises. We will also cover:
The anatomy and physiology of the human voice as the basis for the technique and exercises.
How to observe posture and energy flow in your students in order to provide targeted, specific instruction.
Strategies for how to incorporate Vibrant Voice Technique into your existing practice.
How we can engage in an ongoing exploration to expand the scope and applications of the use of vibration for the voice.
Prerequisite for the program:
Completion of Vibrant Voice Technique, the online course.
